So... what do people think of the skin?

Racoonus, it probably comes off a little differently when viewing on a phone, since it's a much smaller format than a computer monitor or tablet, but staring at a glaring white background for hours on end is killer on your eyes. It's one thing to have a white piece of paper but when you're looking at a white background that's backlit, it causes huge strain on your eyes. This is why editing or animation programs, or other type software that you'll literally be staring at for 10-16 hours a day are designed with a grey background instead of white.

But if we're going for multiple skins with the option to shuffle between them, there's no reason why a duplicate of this layout, but with a white background, couldn't be offered. I can see where it would be difficult to read on a smaller device but for my laptop I'm incredibly grateful for the current background shade. I'd actually prefer it a smidge darker but I'm not about to nitpick.

That's a legitimate argument. I suppose it's just a matter of taste. Still, white has other added bonuses. Such as, when I make an image/picture for my character I can make the sides fade into white, but not have to make it transparent because on a white background it's not necessary and I love little tricks like that because they save me time and still look cool.

You're right though, if we are going for multiple skins it doesn't matter if we disagree.

I think we are all in agreement that the current layout is the ultimate compromise. It's not TOO dark or TOO light. So it's probably the best default option?

And for the record. I too have pink shorts and shirts and a pink room with pink walls and I would love a light pink and white layout for the site. > w < but you know, that's just me being selfish.

Ah, I don't decorate posts, partially because I'm not terribly good at it but mostly because it seems the longer I spend creating a post layout, the quicker an RP is destined to fail : / I can see where white would be terribly convenient for that, though.

Lol. I have orange/pink shorts that I've worn once. They're really comfortable but they're too big for me. Then I have a pink breast cancer awareness shirt that I wear from time to time. Otherwise the bf's mom tries to buy me pink things to make me girly but I never use them.

And I agree, the current layout is a nice compromise ^^

Lol nah I hear you. I HATED pink until I turned, like, 19. Since then it's been, like, my second favorite color. xD But I digress.
