Pyrokinesis: Seraphina burns from the inside out. The heat generated in her blood burns in her veins causing her body to rise to extreme temperatures. Her skin is fireproof and cannot be harmed by heat of any kind.
Albo-Pyrokinesis: This is a higher state of Pyrokinesis which is displayed by the incineration of any object that comes into contact with her skin. Seraphina's heart pumps what is known as White Fire Blood through her veins. The intensity of the heat in her body makes it so that she cannot voluntarily start a fire but instead burns everything she touches to ashes instantly at will.
Infernokinesis: This is the highest state of Pyrokinesis. At this stage, Seraphina's body has reached temperatures that far exceed those that can ever be achieved in nature. Anything at all within arms reach and sometimes beyond is incinerated before she even touches them. Fires that start because of an incomplete incineration are much harder to put out than normal fires. At this strength in her power Seriphina's skin is a blinding white. This stage, however, is extremely rare and has only been reached once in her life.
Change Is The Only Constant:
Seraphina, or Sera as she likes to be called, is almost inapproachable. Her mixed heritage gives her a very strange accent to her already broken english. As a result, she hardly speaks and generally keeps totally to herself. Her condition makes it imperative that she stays calm at all times. However, her quiet demeanor does not inherit a meek personality. Sera is a very strong willed and persistent person. She will never back down from a challenge or shy away from proving her worth. Controlling her feelings is a huge part of her life so it is only at her breaking point that she will reveal her true emotions. When that time comes it is certain that you will regret what you did to push her over the edge.
Despite her self-alienation, Seraphina really is just a lonely girl who wants to be accepted by the people around her just the way she is. She is kind at heart and will never hesitate to help someone in need. Her speech makes it difficult at times for her to communicate, however, if she believes you are worth it, she will make the effort. She attaches fiercely to those she considers her friends and will protect them no matter what.
Only Time Will Tell:
Seraphina was born into a very complicated family. Her father, Vincenzo, an Italian-American businessman, was involved in many gangs and underground black markets while they lived in their small home in Bronx, New York. Her mother, Anatolia, an Alpha Chlorokinetic from Romania, did the best she could to provide a safe life for her children. With the idea that spending as much time away from the house would shield the kids from the dangerous life of her husband, she kept them in school and as many after school activities as possible. Seraphina, however, was very much aware of her family’s problems. Because of the need to constantly move and travel whenever there was trouble in her father’s business, Seraphina and her two little brothers never made any lasting relationships. When the dark haired girl was born, the doctors were startled by the high fever she maintained. It wore off eventually as she calmed down, so it was accepted as odd but nothing serious. The true nature of her birth revealed itself when she was 10 years old. It had been common for her to get feverish when she became too emotional about something. This time, it seemed to ascend into another stage. She had always been made fun of at every school she enrolled in. She was always the new girl and her pale skin and thick accent did very little to make her popular among her peers. That day, her emotional control snapped, her fever set in at temperatures far exceeding those a normal human could endure. She went into a frenzy, burning her tormentors with her hand balled in fists, the heat from them creating third degree burns even before impact. Teachers, and then police tried to contain her, but their shouts and attempts to touch her only proved to fuel her fury. Her clothes incinerated upon the peak of her rage and in her shame for her nakedness, she fled home, her very steps causing the ground beneath her to disintegrate at each step.
After that incident, Mrs. Vittorio divorced her husband and moved out of their town in hopes of finding a better life. In the next 8 years, The Vittorio family moved from place to place as Seraphina’s powers grew more noticeable. As a growing child, she did not know how to control her abilities. Small fires were reported and burns were frequent wherever she went. Her mother used every bit of energy she had in efforts to protect her kids, even using her own powers to create fire-resistant clothes for Seraphina. Nevertheless, when word of a burning girl would start to spread too far, they were forced to move. It was at the beginning of her senior year in high school that she was noticed in a good way. A councilor there had caught the darkly dressed girl trying desperately to put out a small fire in her locker after a group of students had knocked her down for the last time. He helped her extinguish it and made an appointment with her for the next day. Seraphina was not prepared for what the man had to tell her. He explained that her powers were special, and that she was meant for something more than hiding who she was under the guise of normalcy. He offered her a fresh start. A way to control her abilities. To be something great.
