I've found that the only large Group rps that work well are ones that allow you to easily leave characters and move on.

I like smaller groups. I can handle one with up to 10 or 15 people so long as they are not all interacting with one another at once. But I totally am gonna think up something good involving both fantasy and post-apocalyptic themes.

If you're wanting fantasy in the form of magic/superpowers, one of the most fun RPs I've ever done was set in a futuristic setting where some mildly foreseeable disaster affected earth (i think we went with a meteor, but nuclear war could work just as well). Those that had the means evacuated the planet before anything happened. Another group (what we'd consider the "middle class" ) sought shelter underground in a bunker built beside an aquifer. Those who couldn't hide or escape just endured the fallout (most dying in the process). Offspring of the surface survivors, or just older surface survivors, developed mutations & powers. Those hiding out in the bunker were unaffected, having access to protective bodywear if they ever ventured to the surface- which they did; water was plentiful in their little bunker but energy, medicine, raw supplies, and sometimes food were not, so they needed to send raiding parties to the surface.
From here you have the option of giving the bunker dudes slightly more honed/less mutative abilities in order to combat the mutants.
Ours was set in Canada, with the understanding that northern regions were generally less affected than those down south, but there was more food down south because vegetation and animals grew to extreme sizes. Also, the further south you went, the crazier and less humane the surviving mutants became (Borderlands, The Hills Have Eyes, etc).
Anyway, feel free to use any portion of this idea. I could even toss out the different power/mutation tables we used for those who aren't afraid to leave a bit of character development to chance.

If enough people want to do this I think it should happen. Not sure I'm able to RP directly but I may be available to set it up and get it going.

If Bark at the moon comes on here I would join again I would just have to move everything for Klara over here.

If it does come here...I don't think I'll be bringing it lol. I love Cale but...I think Bark is just...done if it dies on TLC.
